Effektives Terminal

Web developers have a large number of different projects in very complex file structures in their local development environment. Especially when developing with virtual machines, the relevant files are located in a deep file hierarchy. In order to be able to work quickly and effectively in this structure, it makes sense to use a tool with significantly more features than a normal terminal. This is where iTerm2 has firmly established itself in development on Macs.

However, the standard version of the terminal does not offer enough features. Many web developers therefore use a Zsh as a terminal to make it easier to add new features and work faster and more effectively. Oh-My-Zsh is a preconfigured Zsh from Robby Russel and enables convenient tabbing when changing directories. The arrow keys can also be used for this. Themes can also be loaded. When used correctly, the Agnoster theme can display information on the Git status directly in directories with Git. This requires the Git plugin, which is already included in the Oh-My-Zsh.
